Satellite power system



The next generation of medium to large Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites will be expected to consume more power due to complex computational complexity, and the existing battery and power systems must change accordingly. Also, as the power consumption increases, it is changing to use the 100V battery power supply in the existing 50V battery power supply system.

However, in the case of the battery charge/discharge regulator, which is a main component of the power regulator, the design technique does not exist within the country. For this reason, it is very difficult to change the battery and power system as well as the charge/discharge regulator. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the design technology of the existing battery charge/discharge regulator in order to develop the power system for the next generation medium and large GEO satellite system.



We designed a prototype of 750W using Weinberg converter. This prototype satisfies the high reliability, good load share performance, and high power density & efficiency required for GEO satellite applications.
